Help!

Exercise Experts are Available
If you are a high-risk patient who needs supervised exercise, your doctor will refer you to a Clinical Exercise Physiologist or a Clinical Exercise Specialist. Otherwise healthy individuals may still benefit from a non-clinical fitness professional such as a Health Fitness Specialist or a certified personal trainer. Use the ACSM ProFinder to find one in your area.

If you choose to work with a fitness expert, find out about their costs, areas of expertise and types of clients they assist. Ask for a free assessment or trial period. Make sure they are ACSM-certified. Call their references. Be clear about your expectations.
