Exercise is Medicine® is a global initiative! Launched by the American College of Sports Medicine in 2007, EIM now has a presence in several countries around the globe. The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) launched EIM in Canada in 2012 and holds events associated with EIMC at its own annual meeting.
Mission Statement:
To provide national leadership in promoting physical activity as a chronic disease prevention and management strategy to improve the health of Canadians.
Vision:
Physical Activity is an integral part of prevention and treatment of chronic disease in the Canadian Health Care System, so that more Canadians meet the Canadian Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines.
